Voice Mail Alternate Greeting (March 8th, 2010)

Voice Mail Alternate Greeting

You can record an alternate greeting to alert callers of special circumstances like vacation or traveling for business that plays in place of your standard greeting. When recording your alternate greeting, you can also specify the end date and time for which the system will automatically return you greeting to the standard greeting. If you have previously recorded a closed greeting, your closed greeting will still play during non business hours.

An alternate greeting example would be "Hello this is (name and title), I will be out of the office until (date). Please leave your name, number and a message after the tone."

To record and activate you closed greeting do the following:
1. press the messages button on your phone
2. enter your pin
3. press 4 for setup
4. press 1 for greetings
5. press 3 to edit greetings
6. press 3 to record an alternate greeting
7. after recording the alternate greeting, press 3 to turn the greeting on and follow the prompts to set an end date and time.
Voice Mail Closed Greeting (Feb. 19th, 2010):

You can record a closed greeting that automatically plays during non business hours to alert a caller when your normal business hours are. All users are configured with a default schedule of normal business hours, currently 7:45 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. When you record and activate your closed greeting, the voice mail system will automatically change your greeting to the closed greeting during non business hours and return to the standard greeting when business hours start.

A closed greeting example would be "Hello this is name and title, VCSU offices are currently closed, office hours are Monday through Friday 7:45 am to 4:30 pm central time. Please leave your name, number and a message after the tone."

To record and activate you closed greeting, press the messages button on your phone, enter your pin, press 4 for setup, then 1 for greetings, then 3 to edit greetings and 2 to record a closed greeting. After recording the closed greeting, press 3 to turn the greeting on.

If you would like to use this feature but your normal business hours are different than 7:45 - 4:30, please contact CJ Kotta or Tyler Tufte and provide them with your normal hours.
